Maternity Must-Haves

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite items that I’ve found to be super useful during pregnancy.

This is the first pregnancy that I’ve actually invested in some maternity clothes. I have to say, it has made a big difference. So I’ll include some of my favorite clothing items (I’ve had some trial, error, and lots of returns/exchanges to find some staple pieces), along with some other random things I love! So here we go!

Dresses (& a jumpsuit):

I’ve found a couple dresses on Amazon that will work before, during, and after pregnancy which is the best in my opinion. Here are couple of my favorites:

Who loves a good jumpsuit?! It takes care of an entire outfit in one decision. Sign me up. This jumpsuit is a go-to for me. I got it last pregnancy and wore it many times even when I wasn’t pregnant.

Joggers:

I was in search of a good pair of pregnancy joggers I could wear around the house, or out and about. I loved this pair from Old Navy that I saw on my cousin, and JUST saw that they restocked sizes. So I will order these to give them a shot. The quality seemed amazing and they had a great belly band. They haven’t had many sizes until now!

The ones I ended up purchasing and like are from Walmart! These aren’t super high quality and the material is a little thinner than I’d prefer, but for the price I think they’re absolutely worth it.

Leggings:

I have yet to find better maternity leggings than the Lululemon Aligns, and they’re pricey unfortunately. (But worth it.) I haven’t purchased a new pair since my pregnancy with Sienna, so they have lasted now four pregnancies and in between! So in my opinion, definitely worth the investment. Wash on cold and hang dry, and they’ll stay nice.

Shoes:

These are another investment item, but eliminated so much of my feet pain the past two pregnancies. (White is my favorite & can be found on the Hoka website!)

Bathing Suit:

I have tried my fair share of bathing suits this pregnancy, and let me tell you, “pregnant bathing suit shopping” is something at the very bottom of my list of things I like to do…

For some reason, one piece maternity suits just continued to fail me. They felt way too tight and constricting.

But FINALLY, I found something different on Amazon that is comfortable, not tight around the rib cage, or the tummy, and is sporty/cute. For the first time I felt comfortable and cute when I tried it on, and my sisters approved.

The shorts aren’t technically made for swimming, but reviews did confirm they have been used for swimming! This swim outfit can also be worn outside of the pool, which is a plus in my book! I love the length of these shorts; most of the ones I tried before were way too short for my mama comfort.

Pregnancy Pillow:

I am sad to say this is my FIRST pregnancy that I’ve had a pregnancy pillow. I never thought it was really necessary. But holy moly. I sleep so much better with this thing. Sienna told me I need to order her one too. I chose this one based on reviews and because it was organic. I am impressed to say the least.

Undergarments:

I recommend grabbing some comfy undies & bras–this will make a huge difference in your comfort during pregnancy and postpartum. See my recommendations below–I won’t include a picture because, well that’s just not the vibe I’m going for here! But click the links to check them out!

But check these out if you’re in search of an affordable pack of comfy undies! I had these during my pregnancy & postpartum with Henry and just ordered another pack! They’re high waisted which makes them super comfortable.

And these bras are my go-to for pregnancy AND postpartum! They’re the most comfortable and functional bras I’ve found. I bought one, and then went back for more! They’re great for nursing, working out, and just for being comfortable.

Tops:

I have yet to really find any maternity tops that I am in love with for pregnancy, however I have a few in my closet that are working fine. A few are workout tanks that are stretchy enough (as of now) to work fine, but as I get bigger I might need something more. A couple others are longer, stretchy tunic-like tops. So if you have any suggestions, please comment below!

All-in-all:

I’m pretty minimal in general; you can catch me wandering around my house with a trash bag collecting toys I’m tired of picking up to donate–clutter just isn’t my thing. Anything to simplify life with toddlers, right?

The same goes for my wardrobe. I keep the necessities around but that’s about it! So my list is fairly short, but these are things I am so glad I found!

If you have any suggestions of your own, please share with me!

That’s all for today,
